The 2024 World Intellectual Property Organization

During the 65th General Assembly of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the WIPO Global Awards ceremony was held in Geneva, Switzerland. WIPO Director General Daren Tang presented awards to representatives of nine winning companies in recognition of their positive impact on promoting global technological progress while boosting economic growth through technological innovation and the use of intellectual property. This year, more than 660 SMEs and start-ups from 107 countries participated in the WIPO Global Awards. Among the 25 shortlisted companies, four were Chinese. Among the nine winning companies, Beijing Zhiyu Medical Technology Co., Ltd. from China was on the list. The other eight companies are from Argentina, Kenya, South Korea, Kuwait, Singapore, Switzerland, Thailand and Turkey.

 

The WIPO Global Awards was established in 2022. It is an award specifically for small and medium-sized enterprises and start-ups from all walks of life to recognize companies and individuals who have contributed to global economic, social and cultural progress. Chinese companies have won awards for three consecutive years, and their innovative strength has been fully recognized.
